History

Documents show interesting links with Oxford University, when in the 1880s drainage systems, including the installation of water-closets, throughout Christ Church were upgraded. The Howse brand begins in Oxford during the 1930s. H.E. Howse carried out, in the main, plumbing and leadwork contracts for the University and local builders.

After Incorporation in 1951 the company grew steadily until the 1970s, when it acquired Leonard A Sharp Ltd., another long established Oxford company, specialising in mechanical services. This alliance created the present company, Sharp+Howse Ltd.

The company broadened its base of operations further in 1982 with the acquisition of Bicester Air Conditioning Ltd., a company specialising in air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation along with its own ductwork manufacturing facility.

Sharp+Howse, now a very modern company planning for future expansion, still relies on the traditional qualities of craftsmanship and exceptional service, developed throughout its long history.
